British Values of Democracy being put into practice at Meadway!
On Thursday 23rd June, we followed the rest of the country in holding our own EU referendum. This was the culmination of a piece of work on democracy in which we had held a full debate on whether we should leave or remain in the EU. Students got really enthused by the arguments and public opinion was clearly quite divided amongst the group. They then got to participate in a democratic process and cast their vote in their own secret ballow.
Our results bucked the national trend with 61% voting to remain in the EU and 38% voting to leave.
