Enrichment & Interventions at The Pavilion
At the Pavilion, we believe that it is vital to offer enrichment activities to support the personal development of each and every student in our care. We believe it is not only academic success that will ensure all of our young people thrive and achieve in the future, but also the wider activities and experiences that we offer that help to build confidence, resilience and social skills amongst our students.
We offer individualised programmes of mentoring and support for our students as well as links with outside agencies such as Barnet Football Club, Finchley Boxing Club, Equine Therapy and many others. We also organise two Enrichment Days each term when we have a collapsed timetable and offer students a range of different activities and visits to consolidate and add value to the work that they do in the classroom.
In previous years, we have had workshops from:
- London Ambulance Service
- The London Fire Brigade
- Stop Smoking Service
- Young People's Drug and Alcohol Service
- Local Artists
- Local Boxing Club
- Motivational Speakers with a focus on Conflict Resolution
- Arc Theatre Company
- A Hula Hooping Champion
- The Take Art Programme from the National Theatre
- Transport for London
We have also organised visits to the following places in London:
- The London Dungeons
- The Globe Theatre
- An Equine Therapy Centre
Each of these workshops and visits offer our young people the chance to experience new things, develop new skills and meet people from different walks of life. We aim to broaden the horizons for each of our students by allowing them to experience a full and varied curriculum and develop natural talents in a range of activities. These Enrichment Days also serve to develop team work and communication skills which are key to success in all young people.
