Careers Education - Participation with Exposure
Two students from The Pavilion were lucky to participate in a new and exciting project by Exposure. Exposure is a multi-award winning charitable youth communications enterprise. It works with young people to provide work experience in the media industry, offers an opportunity to improve employability skills. Working with young people, they produce online podcasts, films and a digital magazine.
Currently, Exposure are running a project in Barnet called “I’m inspired”, giving local youngsters the chance to explore, understand and report on the realities of the world of work by interviewing successful professionals in various sectors about:
- what their job entails
- their education, training and experience
- the path taken and dedication needed to achieve success
- the advice and guidance they would give to young people looking to enter their profession
- what they look for in an employee
Richard, who is interested in a career in the music industry, was able to visit NTS, an award winning digital radio station, where he was able to find out all about it from Josh Farmer, one of the studio managers.
Richard will be completing a one week work experience at the studio and will learn more about what working in this field is like. [He’s not looking forward to the journey to Dalston every day!]

Samsam is hoping to pursue a career in publishing. She was able to meet the editor of Take a Break magazine at their Head Office in Camden
After a guided tour of the publishing house, which produces a large number of magazines, Samsam was able to ask lots of questions about how to get a career in this field. You can watch this interview below.
