As an incentive for our students, we take them on reward trips. These help to provide our students with a chance to reflect on all the hard work they are doing. This year, we are taking our students on a bowling trip!!!!

KS3 pupils - School closed and independent learning from home

Thursday 25/01/24

KS3 pupils - Arrive at school at 12.50pm to 3pm. Lunch will be provided.

Parham was a patient on Galaxy Ward, Barnet Hospital from September 2019 for an extended period of time, where he accessed education via Discovery Classroom, part of the Pavilion, until he was transferred to The Royal Free Hospital. 

In 2021 he accessed education via the Pavilion's Outreach Team, where he initially accessed lessons virtually, due to Covid, and later, face to face.  When he turned 18 The Pavilion Outreach Team supported the transition to other outreach education providers, and continued to maintain regular contact with Parham and his mum. 

Parham lit up every room and everyone he came in contact with.  Education was so important to him, as was his love to planes, music and his religion. His dream was to become a pilot.

Saracens Rugby Club invited pupils and staff to Stone X Stadium for our annual Sports Day.  The day was hosted by staff from Saracens Sport Foundation who have been working with The Pavilion throughout the academic year as mentors and pupil support.

Pupil 100m Race

The staff vs pupils rounders match summed up the amazing day with everyone cheering each other on.  Unsurprisingly, the match was won by the pupils although the staff gave it their all!

New building, same school

While we will construct new school buildings, we will continue to be the same single school that has stood in the grounds of Dame Alice Owens Playing Fields since the 1990s.

We currently have funding to educate a maximum of 73 children on site and this will not change; we are redeveloping to make the educational experience as fulfilling and productive as possible for the same number of pupils we currently have provision for.

The Pavilion Whetstone has moved to a temporary building site, this is a big step for pavilion as a whole, having a fresh new building even though it's a temporary site, it still makes a big difference to be able to start fresh and have sense of purposed especially for staff and students.  The old building of Pavilion was knocked down in to make space for the new building which is currently in progress and is starting to take shape! Exciting news for the pavilion.
