Shifting Perceptions: Pavilion students' photograpgy at Arts Depot
The images you can see currently on display at the Arts Depot have been created by students at the Pavilion Study Centre during the spring term of 2019.
Artist Andreas Peterson worked with students to photograph their immediate environment in school and in the local community. The students were invited to record intuitively those elements of the world around them that interested them the most. Some images have clear themes and points of interest while others invite the viewer to explore the image for themselves. Also a number of images were digitally manipulated.
Students learnt a range of technical skills whilst using the camera such as changing and focusing the lens, digital editing via software and experimenting with composition of images. Furthermore students aimed to develop skills of engagement, taking responsibility, communication and language and critical thinking.
