Careers Education, Information, Advice and Guidance
Our aim at The Pavilion School is to improve the post 16 opportunities of our young
people and to help them make positive choices for their future. We offer them a
nurturing, safe and supportive environment and a personalised learning experience.
This aim informs our approach to careers education, information, advice and guidance
(CEIAG) through all the Key Stages.
We recognise that each student has their own strengths and talents and we aim to
ensure that they can reflect on these to set themselves achievable goals.
The activities in our Careers Programme support this purpose and provide a bridge from
which students move to a post-16 destination of choice and then further into
employment and adulthood as responsible members of society. We support our
students to develop the knowledge and skills they need to make realistic, informed
choices for their future, whether it’s at Year 6, Year 9 or Year 11. Our Careers
Programme has many aspects. While CEIAG is a part of the support we offer to all
students, the Programme is differentiated to suit the needs of everyone. To achieve this,
we work with internal and external stakeholders to build a Programme that combines
integrated delivery with more overt CEIAG events. Internally, it is incumbent on all
members of staff to embed the delivery of CEIAG provision both within and beyond the
curriculum.
The Pavilion School is part of the West London Careers Hub. We participate in a UK
wide evaluation platform to monitor and track our CEIAG achievements. Several
external providers offer mentoring and support to ensure that Pavilion students achieve
their post 16 goals.
